I’m now the proud Auntie of a beautiful baby girl. Katie my pregnant punk sister spent around 19 hours in labour to squeeze out the little one. Her date of birth is interesting because it is the same date as Katie’s grandmother and Gavin’s mum.

It’s exciting because the baby is now the first in the third generation of the O’Brien/Gifford clan. God help us says the rest of the world but this is a special occasion for us. I didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I am but I think it’s because I’m not the one having it. 🙂

Hopefully I’ll get some pictures tonight when I go to visit. Oh dear, you know a blog has deteriorated when you start seeing baby photos on it. I’m shamed.

Isn’t it meant to be REALLY gross to see a baby being born?

And a guy at work compared seeing a womans water breaking with popping a water balloon. Nice.

According to Gavin who was there the whole time it was. Blood rushing every where he says. What disturbs me about pregnancy is that everyone knows everything about your private bits and discusses it. That’s enough to put me off. 🙂

well I had the fortunate/unfortunate (?) experience of watching one of my godsons being born. Don’t know about the blood rushing everywhere, but there’s definetly heaps of gooey fluid with blood bits in it! Eww teehee

A beautiful thing really..but not for the faint hearted 😉

p.s. Congrats to the parents and to Aunty Amy
