Mummy, I’m a tryhard.

The immortal words Kelly uttered on a video camera in the 90s, to be repeated over and over again through the ages. Since I really enjoyed embarassing my punk sister yesterday I thought I’d do it again for my youngest sister. Especially since I owe her for the “fun with photos” post she did on her site.

So, fresh from the scanner comes…

Kelly the spangly dancer!

Dance Kelly Dance

Look at that hair, look at the purple leopard skin print, look at the well pointed jazz ballet shoes. Jon Benet Ramsey would be proud.

Truth be told though, Kelly and Katie were both good dancers. Especially after seeing superstar Madonna our Auntie up on stage dancing to John Cougar Mellencamp’s version of Rave On. I never lived up to my mothers Hollywood mum ideal – she called me a dancing elephant. Then she wondered why I didn’t like ballet. You’d never see me in a pink leotard again. I was more the tennis playing, rugby tackling type daughter. Just the way I liked it.

This could become real interesting, a web cat fight between sisters. All will be revealed here (and at Kelly’s site).

Ohhh just you wait, I have got in stock some of Amy’s graduation photos!!

And Amy I’m disappointed in you, saying I was a good dancer! Don’t you recall my elephant dance, where I ran across the stage halfway through the production? I thought that was the highlight of the night. I made such a cute elephant!! I remember trying to fit into that costume years later for a dress up party. Oh well.

But look at the legs on that photo! Wish I still had those, although longer, because with my height now, and legs that length, that’s just wrong.

How could I forget the elephant dance – Kelly tap dancing her little heart out in completely the opposite direction to everyone else. We know the real reason was that you wanted to stand out.

Hey, my graduation photos are stunning – red lobster back from falling asleep on the trampoline that afternoon. Mum loves that picture so much it’s the only recent one she has displayed – recent being 10 years ago. 😀

Yeah funny that….wonder why she hasn’t got any of your recent ones, you know, the ones of your insides coming tumbling out of your latest soccer injury etc etc.

Actually, the latest she’s got displayed of me was when i was the age of the dancing photo. Hey i’m upset.

I had a laugh at all the comments. I haven’t got any recent photos up because you 3 are never together and when you are you all whinge about getting your photos taken. Why don’t you surprise me and get some taken with the 3 of you together. I will then display them. Anyway the ones I have on show bring back happy memories

WHAT!?!?!?!?! A mention of my mother up on stage and none of my lack of dancing ability, Amy, i’m really hurt. I own the costumes that you all wore when you were rising stars… before you crashed and burned of course. I’m the most sane one in the family and i used to run around dad and gerry kissing fish for god sake! shame on you Amy for not introducng me. To Aunty Lynne: forget them and their relctance to be captured on camera. Display pics of me and gerry instead, we’re the lookers of the family apart from u of course Aunty Lynne ……..You’re really pretty!

Look it’s Lucy using her powers of flattery again. 🙂 You sound jealous of your mothers obvious skills at jazz ballet, perhaps you should put the old costumes back on and practise!

Completely crushed. I’ll have to get my crack team of sewers to make you some new outfits. Maybe a lovely hippo costume or sasquatch one.

If you really want to see your mum dance, go and buy a John Melloncamp best of album and play “Rave On”. Madonna won’t be able to resist.
