The female time of the month

I’ve just gotten over a weird “have to listen to females” month and these were the songs I liked the most:

A Russian/American from New York who has that Nellie McKay type New Yorkness

Emily Haines and the Soft Skeleton – Doctor Blind

Excellent video, excellent song, cool t-shirt.

The Pipettes – ABC

I always fall for 1950s styled girl groups.

The Gossip – Standing in the way of control

Cool segue in to the bass player at the beginning, rocking chorus

Gwen Stefani – Early Winter

Standard Gwen slow fare, no surprises but why mess with perfection?

Thanks to guitar hero I’ve now moved on to Metallica, Jimi Hendrix and Pantera which is a little bit of a departure. 😉
