Every year around early January the Macworld magazine has an expo in San Francisco. Apple usually chooses this expo to release new products by announcing them at the keynote address. In 2004 Pauline and I were lucky enough to attend, but unlucky in that the only cool new product they announced was the Ipod Mini – and we all know that that isn’t even in their range anymore.

This year there are all sorts of rumours about what the products will be, some say iPhone, others say touch screen ipod. I’m thinking it’s going to be something that no one has thought of yet which will blow our minds. It would almost be an anti-climax now for them to release those products as everyone expects them. Apple have a tendency to come from left field and deliver something that we didn’t realise we wanted until they show it to us. I’m thinking this year is going to be big in the world of Apple and it’s even made me consider getting up at 5.00am on Wednesday morning to watch it live.

It’s brilliant marketing by Apple to get us excited about a product launch when we don’t even know the product yet. 😀

Omg, itunes with coverflow, accelerometer like in the wii so if you turn it the screen changes aspect, so thin, such big text, did you see the starbucks google map demo where they rang them, merging phone calls with one button, songs tune out when a phone call is received, the best operating system on the pc is now on a phone…. takes big breath.

Bad news is…2008 for Australia. 🙁

By the way, I saw all that on the apple website – http://www.apple.com/iphone/

It’s not often apple add a tab to the top of their website – the iphone is pretty special.

Also, I can see the nano being phased out after this so that there are only shuffles, >40GB video ipods and the iphone.

Did I mention that it is sexy!!!

But where was the 13″ macbook? Lack of computers was a little disturbing, especially now that they’ve changed their name from Apple Computer Inc to Apple Inc.

I want one!!! I went to the apple site and had a bit of a drool. The only downside I think is that it only has a 2Mega pixel camera. I guess I will have to endure my SE K750i for another 12 months.
