The last few days Brisbane has been bombarded with record rainfalls and stunning thunderstorms. It’s been a welcome relief to the drought we’ve just been through, but the rain has amplified a few issues I have had around the house. Firstly it pointed out to me that I haven’t cleared the leaves out of the drain by creating a pool in the paved area under the verandah. Secondly it showed me that the gutters need replacing by creating waterfalls off the roof of my house. Observe:

Back of the house.

Gutters who needs them! 8-D
Did Pauline tell you that when we were setting up for the Baby Shower I was wading around in the pool trying to clear the gutter? I had water up to my elbows, bent over trying not to get my skirt wet, and fumbling in the water praying that I didn’t pick up a toad or something.
No doubt if I had, I would have had to change my clothing 🙂
I did that too, except I had a broom and was trying to loosen the dirt and leaves in the drain. I think all I suceeded in doing was making a big mess.
I had some gardening instrument that Pauline found… LOL
